Cruise ports are approximately 70 to 80 kilometres (approx. 50-55
miles) out of the city and away from the airports. There are two
ways of getting from and to the cruise docks.
The easy way!
An english speaking driver of Limousine system will meet you as you
exit the baggage claim. He will have your name on a name sign. He
will help you with your heavy baggage and escort you to the vehicle
of your choice and drive you to your hotel in the city or the
airport. OR Our professional chauffeur will meet you at the airport
or pick you up from your hotel in the city centre and drive you to
the port.
Difficulty level …………… 0
Time required …………… One hour and 15 minutes
The hard way !
Try finding a taxi at the pier. Spend a half hour haggling about the
price, which will be Euro 200 + extras for baggage and tolls. Or
Drag your baggage for almost 2 kilometers to the station, squeeze
into the crowded train, search for a place to store your heavy cases.
The journey takes approximately an hour and a half. Wait in an
endless queue again, for a taxi or bus when you get off the train,
and try explaining your destination to a driver who does not
understand english.
Difficulty level ………… 100%
Time required ………… four hours.
Relax and allow your private chauffeur the privilege of driving you
into the city of Rome, or out of the city to the pier, giving you an
overview of sites you pass on the way.
